Commuters on the Causeway endured hours-long queues to enter Singapore from Johor Bahru before Malaysia’s new travel restrictions to curb the spread of COVID-19 came into force on midnight of Wednesday (Mar 18). By 2am, the traffic on one of the world’s busiest border crossings had dwindled significantly, with mostly heavy vehicles left awaiting entry into Singapore.

  1. When the lockdown end on 31st March, 2020. The returning Malaysian day trippers will be subjected to 14 days quarantine in their homeland. That will cause the Singapore economic and municipal services to be crippled, if not paralyzed.

  2. $700 free + free hotel accommodation. Who doesnt want? even malaysia government doesnt provide such VIP world class treatment. $700 is nearly a mth pay for most malaysians working in SG, its just like Singapore giving bonus for Malaysia citizen.

  3. today most cases are imported. yet we have not closed our borders? why…do we have a deathwish? Are we not valuing our own people? i cannot even withdraw from my CPF during such a time…ridiculous … also i disagree with releasing dengue mosquitoes to fight the dengue… the walbachia experiment has not worked in my view because more people got dengue…stop allowing foreigners to use natives like guinea pigs…it is backward and colonial and DUMB

  4. A good time lapse video for such situation, should show audiences the different traffic conditions between day and night with running time. Not sure what message this video trying to deliver.
